Dreamwidth?
May. 4th, 2009 01:23 pmLook at me! I'm a sheep ~ following the masses over to dreamwidth! And I'm crossposting (I think). No, I'm not leaving LJ, I've got a permanent account which makes me add-free everywhere on LJ. This is, apparently, the big draw of DW?
Besides, I've got all these communities that require daily feeding/watering and what would they do if I left town?
Personally, I'm over at DW because it seems that's where the stargate porn is going. ;) Which reminds me, I've found a couple of you dear friends over there andstalked added you. Add me at will.
Hey? Can I do a poll over here? (um... no?).
If you're over at DW, why? What are you going to do with it?
Are you importing your LJ or not?
Oh, if you need an invite code and I can figure out how to get one, I'll try. :D

Sanctuary Rumble
Jan. 31st, 2009 11:25 amWell, I suppose it's time to pimp this in my own journal. ;)

I started a rumble at
sanctuaryrumble a few days ago and we're just about ready to kick-off the first round. I'd like to have a couple more participants before the round starts. So, if you're so inclined, I'd love it if you stop by and check it out.
A "Rumble" icontest is similar to a LIMS, but without eliminations. Instead of eliminations each week, all icon makers get to stay and accumulate points for each challenge in the round. At the end of the round, whoever has the most points wins.
Round 1 sign-ups are open. Currently there are 9 participants (Yay!) so the first challenge will be happening soon. So, stop by and sign up, it's gonna be a blast!!

Firefly Rumble (PIMP)
Nov. 21st, 2008 02:15 pm Like making icons? Like Firefly? Don't like elimination rounds? Try a rumble!
firefly_rumble

P.S. It would be shiny if you let them know I sent you.

SG1 - 01.15 Cor-ai
Aug. 13th, 2008 07:21 pmIn this episode, Teal'c must stand trial for a crime committed while he served as first prime of Apophis when a villager on an alien world identifies him as the Jaffa who killed his father. Now, I don't want to ignore the seriousness of the theme in this episode. In my recent summer graduate class on the escapes and evasions in WWII, the atrocities of some of the war criminals who escaped justice and went on to lead normal, productive lives is a tragedy. I see why people strive to believe in a divine justice as there often seems to be so little of it in this lifetime.
But that's not really what I want to focus on in my non-RL.
So, I am going to ignore some of the seriousness of this episode and offer up a picspam about brussels sprouts. Also notice that it contains the longest speech by Teal'c EVER.
Inspired by the opening scene (pasted from GW):
We begin with the open stargate closing to show SG-1, their backs to us. The walk down the steps looking around at the deserted village. Birds are heard piping.
CARTER: Looks deserted.
TEAL'C: (Looks around) O'Neill. I have been here before.
JACKSON: (Turns to face Teal'C, suprised) What? You have?
TEAL'C: Yes. This world is called Cartago.
JACKSON: (Walks up to the Jaffa) What can you tell us about it?
TEAL'C: The Goa'uld visit here regularly. It is one of their favorite places to harvest hosts for Goa'uld absorption.
JACKSON: You know, I wish you wouldn't say "harvest." We're talking about human beings, not brussel sprouts.

SG1 - 01.07 The Nox
Jul. 21st, 2008 09:45 pmI'm in the mood for another silly picspam....
It ends up with a fixation on 'digestion' for some reason.

SG1 - 01.03 Emancipation
Jul. 6th, 2008 10:03 amI promise to do a non-SG1 post soon. In the meantime, here's just a wacky/corny picspam based on the Emancipation episode. Daniel tries to play a practical joke on Carter and it doesn't go exactly as planned.
